Room Health Check
The Room Health Check analyzes everything your Ripple has to download — images, video, audio, and fonts — and tells you how quickly it loads, which assets are slowing it down, and how to fix them. It is the fastest way to find out why a Ripple feels heavy before your guests ever notice.
Running the Check
While editing a Ripple, click the Room Health Check button in the editor header (the pulse icon near the top of the screen). The report opens in a new browser tab, so you can keep it open beside the editor while you make changes. Run it again at any time to see the effect of your edits.
Your Score
At the top of the report, the room health score rates your Ripple out of 100. A higher score means a lighter, faster Ripple.
Every asset and observation is tagged with one of four plain-language labels, so you never have to guess what a colour means:
- Needs attention — large enough to noticeably slow loading
- Worth checking — borderline; optimize it if it is easy
- OK — no action needed
- Could not check — the file could not be reached or measured
If some images could not be analyzed, the score reflects only the ones that could, and the report says so.
What the Report Shows
The report is organized into sections:
- What's already great — the things your Ripple is doing well, so you know what to keep.
- Overview — headline numbers: Total download size, First scene download size (what a guest downloads just to see the Scene they land on first), the number of Assets, the number of Scenes, and the Background size.
- How fast does your room load? — estimated load times across three connections: Fast Wi-Fi, Mobile (4G), and Slow connection.
- What's slowing your room down — every problem asset, sorted by impact with the largest first, each with a short note on what to do. A Biggest win line under your score names the single highest-impact fix.
- Where your weight lives — a per-scene breakdown of how much each Scene loads, with your start Scene marked so you can see what loads first. The darker part of each bar is the Scene's background image, and each row names the heaviest single asset and its size.
- Interactivity — a score for the actions that make your Ripple engaging, alongside the asset weight.
Acting on the Results
The Recommendations section turns the findings into concrete next steps, and The bottom line gives you a one-line verdict on where to focus.
Most fixes are quick wins:
- Replace oversized background and fill images with smaller, compressed versions
- Trim or compress long audio and video files
- Remove assets that are no longer used in any Scene
After making changes, re-run the Room Health Check to confirm your room health score has improved.
Why It Matters
A lighter Ripple loads faster for everyone — especially guests on phones or slower connections. Heavy background images are the most common cause of slow loading, which is why the report calls them out separately in both Overview and Where your weight lives.
The report pays special attention to your first Scene — the one guests land on. Those assets load before anyone sees anything, so they shape the all-important first impression. The bottom line points you at the heaviest file on that first Scene first, because fixing what guests see immediately beats optimizing a Scene deeper in the Ripple.
