Screen Sharing

Starting a Screen Share

Click the screen share button in the control bar at the bottom of the screen. Your browser will prompt you to choose what to share:

  • Entire screen — shares everything on a display
  • Application window — shares a specific app
  • Browser tab — shares a single tab (useful for slides or demos)

Your screen share appears in a media zone within the Ripple, if one has been set up by the creator.

Screen Share Permissions

Not everyone can share their screen. Permissions depend on the Ripple settings:

  • Creator/facilitator only — only the Ripple owner or facilitators can share
  • Everyone — all participants with authenticated access can share

The creator configures this in the Ripple's screen share settings.

Multiple Screen Shares

Depending on the Ripple configuration, multiple participants may be able to share simultaneously. The creator can set a limit on concurrent shares.

Presenter Camera

The share button has a dropdown with two options:

  • Share Screen — shares your screen, window, or browser tab
  • Share Camera — shares your camera feed as a presenter camera, displayed prominently in a media zone

You can start a presenter camera share yourself if you have screen share permissions. A moderator can also request that your camera be shared as a presenter — you'll see a prompt asking for your consent.

Stopping

Click the screen share button again to stop sharing. You can also stop sharing from your browser's built-in "Stop sharing" notification.
