What is Rippily?
Rippily is a virtual platform for creators who build communities through live experiences. Unlike traditional meeting tools, Rippily lets you create permanent, customizable, interactive spaces where people can host events, collaborate, learn, and feel connected.
Key Concepts
Rippily uses a set of unique terms that reflect how the platform works:
Ripple
A Ripple is a virtual space where people gather. Think of it as an interactive room — but unlike a Zoom call, a Ripple has a visual layout with seats, backgrounds, interactive elements, and multiple scenes. Ripples are permanent and reusable — you design them once and use them as many times as you like.
Wave
A Wave is a community — a collection of Ripples managed by a creator. If a Ripple is a room, a Wave is the building that contains those rooms. Waves have members, roles, and access controls.
Drop
A Drop is a seat or position within a Ripple. When you join a Ripple, you sit in a Drop — your circular video feed appears there. Drops can be placed anywhere in the layout by the creator.
Scene
A Scene is a visual layout within a Ripple. A single Ripple can have multiple Scenes — think of them as slides or pages that the host can switch between during a session. Each Scene has its own arrangement of Drops, elements, and interactive features.
Who is Rippily for?
- Creators who want to build branded, interactive virtual spaces for their community
- Educators who need engaging classroom-like environments with interactive features
- Event organisers running conferences, workshops, or community meetups
- Teams looking for more engaging alternatives to video calls
- Community builders who want a permanent space where members can connect
What makes Rippily different?
- Persistent spaces — your Ripple exists whether or not anyone is in it. No more creating a new meeting link every time.
- Visual, spatial design — participants sit in designed layouts, not a grid of faces. Creators control the look and feel.
- Interactive elements — add clickable buttons, drag-and-drop activities, animations, variables, and more.
- Breakout zones — isolate groups within the same Ripple for small-group conversations.
- Multiple scenes — switch layouts during a session without anyone leaving the room.
