Creating Your Account
Signing Up
You can create a Rippily account using:
- Google sign-in — the fastest option, uses your Google account
- Email and password — creates a standalone Rippily account
After signing up, you'll need to verify your email address before you can access all features.
Setting Up Your Profile
Once signed in, visit your Account page to personalise your profile:
- Display name — the name other participants see when you're in a Ripple
- Avatar — upload a custom profile picture (JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, max 5MB). If you don't upload one, Rippily generates a unique avatar from your name.
- Tagname — your unique @username (e.g., @sarah). This appears in your profile URL and is how others can find you.
About Tagnames
Your tagname is 4–20 characters, using letters, numbers, and underscores. A few things to know:
- When you first sign up, a tagname is auto-generated for you. You can change this at any time.
- After your first manual change, there's a 90-day cooldown before you can change it again.
- Your previous tagname is reserved for 90 days so existing links still work.
