Conferences and Events
Why Rippily for Conferences?
Rippily lets you create a multi-room venue where each room is a fully designed, interactive space. Unlike webinar platforms that offer a single stage, you can build an entire conference experience with keynote halls, workshop rooms, networking lounges, and exhibition spaces.
Setting Up Your Conference
Multiple Ripples in a Wave
Create a separate Ripple for each room or track:
- Main Stage — keynote presentations with a large audience layout
- Workshop Room A/B/C — smaller, interactive spaces for hands-on sessions
- Networking Lounge — casual seating for meeting people between sessions
- Exhibition Hall — browse sponsor content and demos
- Green Room — a private space for speakers to prepare (locked, editor-only access)
All rooms live within a single Wave, so attendees join once and can move between them.
Guest Access for Attendees
Use the right access method for your event:
- Guest list — import your registration list (CSV with emails) so registered attendees can enter automatically
- Guest passes — create self-registration links for your event website, with optional limits and time-limited access (3 days to 30 days, or no expiry)
See Guest Access for full details on each option.
Locking Rooms for Controlled Entry
Lock a Ripple to prevent new participants from entering. This is useful for:
- Starting a keynote on time without late arrivals disrupting
- Keeping workshop rooms at capacity
- Reserving the green room for speakers only
Moderators and editors can still enter locked rooms.
Breakouts for Networking
Design networking scenes with zones so attendees can form small conversation groups. Audio isolation means each group has a private discussion without needing separate rooms.
Analytics for Post-Event Reporting
After your event, use Wave Analytics to review:
- Total unique participants across all rooms
- Peak attendance per room
- Session duration and engagement scores
- Per-room breakdown of activity
Export the data as CSV for your event report or sponsor deck.
Tips for Successful Events
- Test your setup with a dry run before the event
- Assign moderators to each room so someone is always managing the experience
- Use webhooks to post join/leave events to a Discord or Slack channel for real-time coordination among your team
- Create a "Help Desk" Ripple where attendees can go if they have technical issues
- Design each room's scenes in advance — a welcome scene, a presentation scene, and a Q&A scene gives you flexibility during the session
