Viewing Members

Go to Wave Settings → Members to see everyone in your Wave. You can see each member's:

  • Display name and avatar
  • Wave role (Account Holder, Administrator, or Member)
  • Capability level (if promoted above default)
  • When they joined

Wave Roles

Each member has one of three roles:

Role What they can do
Account Holder Full control — owns the Wave, manages everything, cannot be removed
Administrator Operational management — members, settings, invitations, analytics
Member Standard access — joins Ripples within the Wave

There is always exactly one Account Holder (the person who created the Wave). You can have as many Administrators and Members as you like.

Inviting People

You can invite people by email or by sharing a member link. Invited people appear under the Invited filter tab until they accept.

Promoting Capability Levels

By default, each role maps to a capability level:

  • Account Holders and Administrators → Editor level
  • Members → Authenticated level

You can promote individual members to a higher capability level. For example, you might promote a trusted member to Moderator so they can help manage participants during live sessions, without giving them full administrator access to Wave settings.

Removing Members

Administrators and Account Holders can remove members from the Wave. Removed members:

  • Lose access to all Ripples in the Wave immediately
  • Can rejoin if they have an invite link or the Wave is open
  • Are not banned — removal is non-punitive

If you need to permanently prevent someone from rejoining, use the Ban option instead. Bans block all access paths including invite links and guest passes.

Leaving a Wave

Members can leave a Wave voluntarily by clicking Leave Wave on the Wave page or in Wave Settings. A confirmation dialog explains the consequences:

  • You lose access to members-only Ripples
  • Your messages and contributions remain
  • You can rejoin within 24 hours to undo the action

Account Holders cannot leave their own Wave.
