Plans Overview

Rippily offers four plans: Free, Starter, Pro, and Business. Each plan determines how many communities, rooms, participants, and scenes you can have.

What Happens When You Hit a Limit

Creating rooms or communities

When you reach your plan's limit, the create button shows your current usage (e.g., "1/1 rooms") and an upgrade prompt appears. You can upgrade from the Billing page.

Participant limit

If your room is full, new participants see a message explaining the room has reached its capacity and that the host can upgrade for more.

Scenes per room

When you reach your scene limit, the "Add scene" button shows your usage and prevents adding more until you upgrade.

Gated features

Features like room locking, timer, and Discovery listing show a lock icon on the Free plan. Click the icon to see which plan unlocks the feature.

What Happens When You Downgrade

Your content is never deleted. When you downgrade to a plan with lower limits:

  1. Excess rooms are paused — they become invisible to visitors and participants can't join, but your content is preserved exactly as you left it
  2. Rooms are paused in order — your oldest rooms stay active, newer ones are paused first
  3. 2-day correction window — after a downgrade, you have 2 days to rearrange which rooms stay active before the selection is locked
  4. Upgrade to restore — upgrading your plan immediately reactivates all paused rooms

Paused rooms are marked with a "Paused" badge on your dashboard. As the owner, you can still view them in read-only mode.

Founding Member Pricing

Early supporters who subscribe during the founding period lock in a reduced rate for as long as their subscription stays active. Founding pricing:

  • Is available for a limited time after your account is created
  • Stays locked at the founding rate while your subscription is active
  • Cannot be restored if you cancel and resubscribe later
  • Allows switching between tiers during the first year at founding rates
